Lady Gaga Dedicated A Song She Performed At Coachella To Friend Battling Cancer

Lady Gaga returned to the stage for the second weekend of Coachella. She slayed as per usual (no surprise) and the crowd loved her performance (also no surprise). But, sadly there was someone who wasn't in attendance that Gaga would've enjoyed having there.

That person being Gaga's friend and former assistant Sonja, who is currently battling stage 4 cancer. With Sonja on her mind Gaga decided to dedicate her performance of "Edge of Glory" to her dear friend.

She told the crowd, “My friend Sonja is very sick and I love her so much and if it’s OK with you, I’d like to sing this song for her.” And during the performance she said, "I'm sorry you don't feel well. We all wish you were here with us."

Sonja has been best friends with Gaga since she was 23 years old. She is actually the inspiration for her song "Grigio Girl" off her latest album Joanne. Love that one!

We are praying for Sonja that she is able to fight this cancer. Thank you Gaga for not only sharing your talent, but for always sharing your emotions.
