Kate Beckinsale called in to “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” on Friday to talk about her new movie, “Total Recall” which is in theaters today. She told Ryan what it’s like to shoot love scenes with co-star Colin Farrell in front of her husband, the film’s director, and also clarified a previous statement in which she said she didn’t feel attractive until age 29.

On Colin Farrell’s Kissing Comments:
“I think he’s trying to cover up how much he enjoyed it to be honest with you. I think he’s feeling guilty, he’s feeling dirty, wants to get it off his chest.”

On Shooting Love Scenes In Front of Her Husband:
I’ve actually done worse things in front of my husband in other movies, so this sort of thing really, you don’t make a big deal, but I think it can seem worse to the third party apparently. I think when you’re doing jobs that you’re very passionate about, it’s not like you’re coming home and discussing spreadsheets and the other one’s not interested. Do you know what I mean? It’s like we’re both very interested in the movie and in movies in general. And I’m glad I’ve got him back. Now he’s finished editing the movie and it’s nice to talk about other things too.”

Is It True That You Didn’t Feel Attractive Until You Were 29?
“It’s not even really true. I would say I didn’t feel a kind of comfortable being sexy until I was 29. It’s not like I was wandering around thinking, ‘Oh no, my hunchback is showing’ and all that. I wasn’t doing that. I think I just sort of felt more comfortable in myself. I think that’s quite common though. I think 29 is a pretty good age for a woman, you know, going in to your 30’s and stuff, and being in a relationship where you’re feeling extremely loved and confident. I found that very helpful too.”

You Were Probably Sore After Shooting?
“Oh yes, we were all having a lot of baths with Epson salts and comparing our very interesting bruises at the end of the day.”

Do You Have Stunt Hair?
“It was so not the perfect stunt hair, but I remember every five minutes Jen would go, ‘I wish that we had gone with bald Laurie instead of this.’ It makes it very difficult during fight sequences, when you really want people to be able to see that it’s actually you, which is hard when you’ve got two feet hair across your face. So yeah, it was tough.”
