Giada De Laurentiis stopped by the Subway Studio in London during “On Air With Ryan Seacrest” Thursday morning. The host of three shows on the Food Network, Giada talked to Ryan about meeting The Royal Family, working for the Today Show and cooking the perfect romantic meal.

On Preparing Food For The Royals:
“Last July. I cooked for them. I actually got to serve them as well in Santa Barbara. The Duchess and Prince William. We ended up with a vegetarian menu. They’re really into that right now. And so I made them my sweet corn lasagnas, individual, and they were looking for something a little lighter. It was honestly the most amazing moment.”

“Although the Duchess was fabulous, but we all know that, I kind of expected it. He blew me away. Prince William blew me away. He was phenomenal. So engaging. We had a conversation. You know they gave me all these rules of like: Don’t engage them too much so they’re taking attention away from everybody else, don’t look at them in the eye, don’t touch them. I happened to touch him on the arm, I happened to engage him, I happened to look into his eyes, and I got to tell you, I was like, ‘I got to get out of here.’ It was just this moment of connection.”

What Brings You To London During The Olympics?
“So this is my third Olympics with NBC and the Today Show. This is my first summer Olympics, but I’ve done two winter Olympics with them and obviously I couldn’t get enough. The schedule here is lovely when you come from Los Angeles. I’ve been working; yesterday I started at 5 a.m.”

On Staying Fit Despite Being A Celebrity Chef:
“I eat a little bit of everything and not a lot of anything. I taste everything. Like yesterday that’s all I did. Taste, taste, taste. Well actually, I had dinner with Jamie Oliver last night. Yes, he cooked for me, tons and tons of food and tons of wine. So I ate all day and last night.”

What Is A Great, Simple, Romantic, Easy Meal?
“How about my lemon spaghetti with grilled shrimp? That keeps it light, so basically you don’t even have to make a sauce really. You cook the spaghetti so then it’s olive oil, lemon juice, lemon zest and Parmesan cheese and you toss it all together with the cooked pasta.”

Giada will be making an appearance at the Los Angeles Food & Wine Festival August 9-12 along with 99 other celebrity chefs, 250 wineries and wine makers, and more. You can check out all the details online at lafw.com.
