Actress Scarlett Johansson called in to “On Air with Ryan Seacrest” on Friday to talk about her new movie “The Avengers,” which opens in theaters today, the enthusiastic fans, why she has a great dynamic with the rest of the cast, and she reveals what game they played in their down time.
What Did ‘The Avengers’ Cast Do During Their Down Time?
“Most of the time we just played how long can you hold the ice to your bruise game,” Scarlett jokes. “We did actually play Dance Dance Revolution. Watching ‘The Avengers’ play Dance Dance Revolution. There so many videotapes like Tom Hiddleston and I doing the Macarena or something, from the back it’s absolutely absurd. You get so frenzied when you’re playing that game, you want to win it so bad you lose yourself completely.” However, don't expect to find any of those videos posted online, Scarlett tells us they will never be seen.
On ‘The Avengers’ & The Enthusiastic Fans:
“There’s a lot of expectation from the fans to deliver. I’ve seen the film a couple of times and I don’t want to sound overly enthusiastic about it, but I can’t help it, I think it’s pretty awesome and people are responding really, really well to it. So, I hope the fans enjoy it as much as all of us do,” Scarlett tells us. “We’ve been kind of touring the globe with the film now, the fans are just like absolutely rabid, globally. They love these characters…people feel nostalgic about these characters and they just get so involved in the universe and it’s a really fun kind of fantasy for people to get lost in. But the fans are very passionate.”
What Else Would Scarlett Like ‘The Avengers’ To Tackle?
In the film “The Avengers” are trying to save the world from total destruction, but what else would Scarlett like them to tackle? “There are these little things…it’s like you get 6 hotdogs, but 8 hotdog buns. I feel like that could maybe be re-thought.” she says. “In New York, we have the 2nd Avenue subway problem. There’s obviously a lot of issues that we still have to tackle, so maybe we’ll have to save that for ‘Avengers 2.’”
On The Great Dynamic She Has With The Guys In The Cast:
“All of us are good friends from before. Chris Evans and I this is our third film, Sam Jackson it’s our third film together. I know [Jeremy] Renner from back in the day, [Mark] Ruffalo I know from New York, and getting to know Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston just rounded out the crew. They’re just a great, great group of guys that are so much fun. We have a really nice camaraderie between us and all of these actors are such incredible actors on their own and in their own right, that I think it raises the game for everybody and it’s just so much fun to play.”
